Starting HHELP is a deeply personal mission. Our journey began with a family member who grappled with alcohol and other addictions. Regrettably, the resources available to our family were insufficient to provide meaningful assistance to this individual. We witnessed their descent into chaos, and tragically, they eventually lost the strength to continue the fight.
In response to this heart-wrenching experience, we made a solemn promise: to persistently battle alongside others and their families who face the daunting struggle of addiction. The challenges are real, but HHELP remains steadfast in its commitment to reach out and make a difference.
Summary: HHELP is dedicated to supporting those affected by addiction, ensuring that no one faces this battle alone.
Our team of dedicated staff / volunteers is available to lend a helping hand where and when needed.
HHELP's mission is to act as a bridge for residents of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia, offering guidance and support to those struggling with alcohol and other addictions, including the immigrant community.
As an immigrant from Jamaica, like many others from different countries and islands, we often face a culture deeply rooted in 'Pride'—a hesitation to seek assistance. The complex maze of paperwork, procedures, barriers, and significant bureaucratic challenges can be daunting and discouraging.
We offer help by linking families who are not familiar with the wide range of community programs and supports available."
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
